TMJ syndrome: The tempromandibular joint (jaw bone) can get inflamed and develop arthritis. Stress can cause muscle tension and TMJ pain. The most common cause of TMJ pain the crackiling sound is teeth out of alignment. The best thing to do is to see a dentist to fix the malaligent.
