A member asked:

43 year old female, history of ibs, experiencing loose stools/diarrhea every morning for the past year. no other symptoms - no pain, bloating, no blood (and a negative fit test). lots of anxiety about this. does this indicate anything but ibs?

What you eat may be causing the loose stools. Google stools and grade yours. Use App Cronometer to track what you eat and keep a diary to see if you can identify causes. Share with Dr. Spend a few $ and go to uptodate.com and read all about causes including IBS. Then discuss with your team. You will figure it out.

If you have just one loose stool in the day, it would not be a concern knowing there is history of IBS.
