Alcohol is typically removed from a person's system over the course of about 8 hours. Localized injected novacaine for dental procedures rarely affects a person systemically. There should not be an interaction, but to err on the safe side, avoid the alcohol.

The alcohol will be flushed out of your system by then. No side effects of anesthesia not working.
