If you have a UTI with an organism that is sensitive to doxycycline, then it should help. If the bacteria is resistant to doxycycline, then it will not help. Be sure the doxycycline is not expired before taking it since it will likely be ineffective if expired. If you take it and the UTI persists, call your doctor since you may need to get a urine culture done. Hope you feel better soon!

You can take OTC Azo with Ibuprofen for pain and start the Doxy. But you must get a urine test and see a doctor or Urologist to confirm the diagnosis. Hope you feel better.
