Ive used benozyl peroxide my whole life, i now have forehead acne and oily skin from panoxyl. and i want to switch to cerave salicylic acid to see if it works better for my acne/skin texture. how do i safely transition? i cant see a derm right now?

Salicylic acid is not more effective than benzoyl peroxide. Adapalene cream or gel 0.1% is now available over the counter and it is much more effective than those 2 mentioned lotions. You just stop benzoyl and use adapalene every night before bedtime.
