The ESR is a crude early test than measures the presence of inflammatory markers that attach to red blood cells. A level of 10 is normal and good evidence that any prior inflammatory process is under control. Along with normal other bloodwork it suggests healing may have occurred. However, this must be placed in context of an exam by the doc who ordered the studies.
