Deep purple discoloration is a characteristic of ecchymoses which is intradermal bleeding or bruising. If these occur without trauma, then blood clotting abnormalities are suspected. Another cause is the skin being stretched too much. Pink discoloration, on the other hand, is a sign of irritation/ inflammation from various causes. A physician would have to examine you in order to advise you.

It is difficult to know what the diagnosis is without actually seeing it. It would be helpful to also have more info-like was there any injury to the areas? Are you on blood thinning meds? Are the areas painful or itchy?, etc. If the areas are not getting better, then see your doctor ASAP to determine the diagnosis and treatment. Best of luck to you!
