First 24-36 hrs., can use local cold packs, subsequently warmth. Medications such as Tylenol may help, but NSAID's may upset your stomach. Physical therapy is likely most productive. Have your doctor make a referral. Avoid all manipulative therapies, and do not seek chiropractic care due to stroke risks at age 82.
