Lemon juice undiluted has a high acidity level and can irritate or even burn the mouth, esophagus and stomach. Diluted lemon juice or drinks containing lemon juice do not have the same acidity concentration and are therefore less irritating. There is no proven connection between lemon juice and menses. Some non medical, anecdotal observations claim that lemon juice can delay menses.
