Lemon water: Lemons are rumored to prevent your period, induce your period, slow your period, stop your period ; lighten your period. I have not found any studies to support these claims. If anyone has seen scientific literature to the contrary – i would be interested.

A little lemon is ok: A little bit of lemon is ok, because that essentially is lemon-flavored water. Too much lemon juice can lead to an upset stomach in some people. Other than the vitamin c in citrus fruits, and the water of course, there isn't any special benefit of lemon water to one's health.

Might taste better: Plain water has no taste and many people don't like that. Adding a wedge of lemon adds flavor, and perhaps a little vitamin c. Be careful, however, not to over do it. Lemon juice is acidic and to much can erode off the enamel on your teeth.
