I would hope that you were given follow up instructions from the doctor who removed the toenail. If not, call their office asap and ask the doctor what to expect and when to follow up.

It is difficult for me to imagine that they allowed you to leave the office without follow up instructions. Soak for 10 to 15 minutes in the warm hot water. Apply a topical antibiotic, cover with a Band-Aid until it’s healed. That should take about a week.
