What can i take for chronic tension headaches due to stress and tight muscles?

Try addressing the stress through meditation, yoga, counseling if needed. Once the stress is under control, hopefully the headaches will resolve. Avoid daily use of medication to treat chronic headaches except under the care of a physician. Most OTC meds are not intended for daily use and can result in rebound headaches that are even harder to treat.

My question is whether your headaches are truly "tension headaches" or another variety, such as migraines, TMJ syndrome, or chronic sinusitis issues. As Dr Madonna correctly advises, taking analgesics on your own, especially OTC varieties, can eventuate in "chronic daily headaches". Best to work with your doctor.
