For about a week now ive had two pinkish bumps on the back of my tongue that are about less than a quarter of an inch wide and less than a quarter of an inch tall. my throat also feels irritated at times when i swallow. could bumps cause this?

May be. You may watch and wait. If any of the bumps doubles in size, bleeds, ulcerates or more bumps develop, it would be prudent to see a doctor. Try gargling with warm salt solution to see if it helps with the irritation on swallowing.
