A member asked:

Is it true that the hpv vaccination could help treat or reduce a new hpv infection? and if its true would it work for both oral and genital?

HPV vaccine protects against up to nine different strains of HPV virus. It covers the virus most commonly associated with cancer and warts. A person could still get infected with other stains that may produce different lesions at different sites. For info: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd/hpv/public/index.html Get vaccinated. Wish you good health!

Duplicate question. Any vaccine benefit for established HPV infection is small, usually not a reason to vaccinate. Such benefit likely would be equally beneficial for oral, genital, or anal infection.
