It rarely happens. Of the ~450 kids lost to COVID over the past 2 years the vast majority had chronic major illness. The estimate is that 75% of kids have had it, most never noticed by their parents because it was so mild. Confer with your doc if anything begins to worry you, but I would not assume this would go bad for either kid.

MIS-C is a RARE complication of Covid-19 in children. Most often happens in 8-9yr olds, presents with persistent fever, unusually weak/dizzy, bumpy red rash, red eyes, lethargy. Occurs 2-6 weeks after infection. This syndrome is very treatable if detected. Antiinflammatories can prevent any damage to organs.

Most cases are mild and do not result in a hospital stay or in complications such as MIS C. it is important though to continue to monitor temperature and breathing. Keep your children well hydrated,. GI symptoms may occur and discuss a probiotic with your Pediatrician if this occurs. Your toddler is eligible for a COVID 19 vaccination. Watch for signs of shortness of breath and dehydration.
