A member asked:

My two year old has a fever from a cold (positive it is not covid) tested many times. can we still bring her on a plane, this was not a vacation but our only chance to see family. is she at a risk for another illness if she has a fever?

If she has a fever she is likely to be contagious, no matter the pathogen that is causing her symptoms. Please call her Pediatrician.

The presence of fever indicates that it is likely that she has an infection. It is best to postpone until she is afebrile for at least one day. Keep her well hydrated, treat fever and watch for signs of shortness of breath. Allergic rhinitis is not typically associated with a fever.
