At your age, if you experience a significant weight loss (5% or more in the last 6 months) and your diet has not changed, you need to see your doctor for a thorough investigation. Medication for osteoporosis such as Fosamax which can cause chemical esophagitis. This condition can cause weight loss due dysphagia (trouble with swallowing and eating) but I do not think you have this condition.
