Chlamydia live in your gut and reinfect you years later? wife and i have been together for 20 yr and both tested negative years ago (she was tested again for each pregnancy) is our negative genital test(s) from years ago reliable? is this common?

Chlamydia is usually contracted with sexual activity. If both partners have been exclusive sexually, it is generally not going to lead to an active infection with Chlamydia.

Chronic carriage of chlamydia within the GI tract has been documented in animals and humans. Auto-inoculation is considered possible but an unusual event.
