A member asked:

I was diagnosed with seromucinous cystadenoma, is this cause by endometriosis? i was said i have endometriosis but when my pathology result came it turns out seromucinous cystadenoma?

Translation= endometriosis is a condition where endometrial tissue is located in unusual places (not in the womb) like scattered throughout the pelvis. It can be suspected by history and some non-invasive tests. Seromucous cystadenoma is just a pathologist's interpretation of tissue submitted for analysis, usually from a biopsy. Discuss this with the doc who knows your case. You could have both.

Endometriosis does not cause seromucinous cystadenomas. These are benign tumors of the ovary. If the lesion was removed completely, you need not be concerned about it. Wish you good health!
