Not "extremely" : Marijuana is a medicinal herb that can have health benefits for your chronic pain & anxiety. Authorities have tried to demonstrate its health hazards with little success. It might cause mild lung damage & i would be cautious about driving under the influence, but, all in all, it is likely much less detrimental than pharmaceutical alternatives! see http://www.Drugscience.Org/sfu/sfu_longterm.Html.
