Yearly blood check up. and my protein and globulin were both above normal range. this has me very nervous and thinking the worst. my last blood test showed them on a higher range but still normal. now they are high. doctor didn't seem concerned?

We tend not to concern when total protein is high but the components are not deviating too much from the normal range. If both albumin and globulin levels are high but the ratio A/G is 1.2 or above, you should be fine. The contraction of your intravascular volume can increase the total protein and its respective components. I often see that pattern when serum sodium is higher than 142.
