I have just answered your previous question. With the symptoms you describe, you probably have a localized infection. The best treatment is removing the object and clean the site with antiseptic then keep it dried. Empiric antibiotic may not be required if you remove the earring. If you do not have the earring but the site is still red and swollen, you should take antibiotic and analgesic.
