Stomach ulcer can cause discomfort with deep palpation in the epigastric area. If that area is tender with soft touch or abdominal wall motion, e.g. bending the trunk, the pain is likely from abdominal wall. One example is tummy is hurt and sensitive with touch after several days of bad cough.
