Apthous ulcers of the mouth are not caused by a virus. The cause is elusive. You may get some relief by rinsing your mouth with maalox. A prescriotion corticosteroid gel, suitable for mouth use,is probably the most effective treatment.

Would certainly heed Dr Colantino's advice, but, just to be safe, would certainly get updated blood studies due to potential side effects from your felbamate. Likely your mouth and lip issues are co-morbidities, but let your doctor know about this, and examine you, to cover all possibilities.
