Very good afternoon doctors. i would like to plan a transatlantic cruise from europe to new york with stops in several major european cities for early september, but i am concerned about covid. what are your valued opinions in this area?

Are you fully vaccinated with boosters? Are you in good health with no underlying medical conditions that would prevent a quick recovery should you catch Covid-19? Most countries are dropping mask requirements but may still mandate random testing. If concerned, wear a mask and keep your distance from others. Covid will probably be here for a while so we need to learn to live with the risks.

Cruising is becoming quite safe. Most cruise lines require passengers to show proof of vaccination and many test all passengers for COVID before sailing, not allowing those with positive tests to board. As long as you have been vaccinated and your cruise line has these precautions, you'll likely be very safe. Have a nice trip!
