Minor surgery...: There is a very successful minor surgery that can be performed by almost all podiatrists to permanently correct the problem. If you are paying by cash, ask your podiatrist to just bill you the medicare rate. Most of us would accept this amount for treating and elderly patient, why not you as well!

Ingrown nail: Ingrown nails can affect the way you walk and if it's painful to wear shoes, it can affect your productivity at work or affect your lifestyle if you are a student. The best thing to try is to soak your foot in warm water and epsom salt 20 minutes. Apply betadine solution over the toe. Do both twice a day. Do not dig into the nail, it can get infected. Eventually you will have to see a podiatrist.
