Nobody ever caught HSV2 from a tanning bed or other nonsexual source. Be certain of the diagnosis; a test for the virus is necessary to be sure. If confirmed and if your sexual history is accurate, your partner has an HSV2 infection he is unaware of. Many genital HSV2 infections are asymptomatic; lack of symptoms does not mean he doesn't have it. He needs a blood test to confirm he is infected.

HSV-2 is a viral disease from sexual contact, oral anal, and vaginal. The virus doesn't live on tanning beds and they have to be sanitized after every use. Mabe it's your partner, have him checked out.
