Using mouthwash is not the answer. Good oral hygiene, flossing, soft toothbrush and diet is the answer. Mouthwash can be used after all these procedures not as the only one.

No! 2 full minutes of proper brushing at least 2x/day w a fluoridated t'paste will disrupt about 2/3 of the bacterial plaque that damages teeth/gums. Flossing will remove about 1/3. Mouthwash, about 1% of the remaining bacteria. There is no s.mutans-specific rinse. Nor is s.mutans the only pathogen in the plaque. No, there is no short-cut. Brush & floss as per your Dentist's specific instructions.
