A member asked:

My son is on antibiotics day 7 for a sinus infection. hes much better but still a little congested. how long does it take for congestion to go away with atb? im afraid hell pass it ti his sister?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You don't pass sinus infections back & forth like you might for strep or staph. The antibiotics should kill the germs involved with a 10-14 day treatment course in most. Any congestion could remain after the germs die for a week or more.
