A member asked:

What does it mean ones both tubes were demonstrated and show loculated peritoneal spillage of contrast? is it noramal? does it cause infertility?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

In the hysterosalpingogram the spillage of contrast into the abdomen on both sides means they are both open. If there were no contrast spillage that would bean they were blocked. Open tubes mean the egg has a place to enter and be fertilized. If both were blocked it would be one cause for infertility. This test should be explained to you by the doc who ordered it & knows you.
