Define "high". Extremes can cause you to stroke out & die at any age. High is a relative term and outcome depends on multiple factors. For most it will take years before it damages the kidneys to the point a transplant is the only option, or damages the heart until it fails. High blood pressure is a quiet insidious killer that does so for most over a longer period. Get evaluated if you have it.
