A member asked:

Why does my big toe feel like it is stuck when i'm walking? i'm sure it's not gout because i don't eat that kind of food. not painful if not walking but feels like it catches when walking and pressure is put of the front of the food, right foot only?

This doesn't sound urgent but as it is obviously bothering you a podiatrist or orthopedic specialist should take a look at it. Gout is not caused by diet so you cannot eliminate that as a possibility, though your description is not suggestive.

If the big toe joint is feeling Jammed when trying to push off you could be developing arthritis in the big toe joint. It is caused by elevation of the first metatarsal when you push off causing jamming of the joint. If motion is available a custom orthotics that allows for first ray plantarflex ( first metatarsal being able to move down instead of up) of the first metatarsal can prevent surgery
