14 days of HA per month should qualify you for Emgality, unless your insurance blocks it due to price. The 15 day cutoff for Botox is in place because studies have not found it to be helpful in patients with fewer migraines per month. Nevertheless there are many effective medications, supplements, and behavioral therapies that are helpful. If your current doc is out of ideas, get a second opinion.

Your doctor should appeal the insurance decisions. Migraine has typically one day of prodrome, the day of the actual headache, and one day of resolution or postdrome. So, each headache actually affects you for 3 days. If your doctor is unable to assist, recommend a second neurological opinion and seek appropriate interventions.
