A member asked:

What causes a false negative oraquick hiv test? if i tested outside of the 3-month window period, and followed directions, is there still a risk of a false negative?

It seems like you tested in the appropriate timeframe, the only reason you’d get a false negative is if the Oraquick test is inaccurate. If you are concerned, then get a serum HIV test at labcorp/quest. If negative, then there is no further need to worry.

If you have any concerns, get a 4th combo test for HIV. If negative at 3 months after exposure, you can rest assured that you do not have HIV.
