A member asked:

What is the true window period for hiv? i have had a test 5 months after exposer to a women with unknown risk it was negative and it still worries me.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

6 months is: probably a good time to stop testing post exposure. I would recheck again in 1-2 months and if that is negative, I wouldn't worry anymore.
