There are a lot of thing we can do to live a healthy life and this is how we can prevent many diseases along with decreasing one's risk of dementia - keep you weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar normal, don't smoke and don't drink, eat healthy, sleep well, exercise, prevent head trauma, treat your mental health, stay connected, stimulate your mind to learn new things. www.alzheimers.gov

There are numerous different causes for dementia, and Alzheimer's is the most common. There is no preventative treatment at this time for most dementias, but there appears increased risks with repetitive head injuries; diabetics, hypertensives, and other cardiac risk issues. Do not recommend genetic testing as a routine, at this time.
