I'm so sorry. Both of you have a loss that plummets to the depth of your souls and is utterly contrary to the natural order. With death in a family, it's the family that needs to heal. Nurture conversations where you both express how you feel. This is no time for stiff upper lips as there is a risk of drifting apart. Therapy might help, but the greatest comfort will come from each other.

Yes, she does need therapy as you might need it to. She is likely to have developed PTSD on the background of grief after losing her brother. Desensitization therapy among many other techniques will help her overcome her overwhelming feelings. Start with her pediatrician, consider therapy for yourself as well. Sorry for your loss, this is the worst possible news for a parent, unimaginable pain.
