A member asked:

Can als be seen on mri?

A doctor has provided 1 answer
Dr. Bennett Machanic answered

MRI is not helpful in confirming ALS diagnosis, but may be used to exclude other spinal cord problems which may mimic the disease. Very late in ALS, spinal cord atrophy may develop, but the diagnosis is well established by that point.
