Neither causes stomach acid. Stomach lining cells secrete the hydrochloric acid (HCl) and that is human physiology.

Regular bacteria and viruses do not do this. However, a bacteria called Helicobacter pylori is the main cause of stomach or duodenal (upper small intestine) ulcers, and can cause gastritis as well. Effective treatment is available. If "acid stomach" means discomfort relieved by antacids and/or made worse by some foods (e.g., soft drinks, coffee, sour foods), discuss it with your doctor. Good luck.

One type of bacterium, H pylori is associated with stomach inflammation that is generally attributed to high acid, though H pylori raises pH by making urease. Visit this site for info: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5076771/
