: I feel that to suspect a new sinus infection, a head cold that developed over a week earlier worsened with ongoing head congestion and continuing nasal discharge of thickish discolored mucus with or without fever. In your case symptoms are not characteristic of a sinus infection at this time. and I wouldn't consider going on antibiotics now.
