Just found out my toddlers childcare centre was also once a landfill site, so no substantial building has ever been constructed on the site. however, since the 1950s, it has been used as a park. and now since 1990 a childcare centre. should i worry?

You may want to obtain more information about if there was unusual occurence since it was been used as a park. It depends on what was deposited there, if harmless then there is no need to be concerned. There is enough time to see trends in what has happened also since the childcare center was opened there you may just want to dig out the information first.

In the US these centers are regulated by the states, and must undergo a variety of pre-authorizations and ongoing inspections to operate. You may want to fine out if this is the process in your country. If so, the risks are likely minimal.
