Ethambutol in group 1 can cause vision problem. Sputum smear & culture should be done monthly until they become negative (conversion). Culture conversion determines the duration of injectable agent which should be continued for 6 months after the conversion. The treatment course should be continued for a minimum of 18 months after culture conversion. You need more treatment time for a good outcome

Weight gain during illness may be treated with a high protein and high calorie diet. Consider a nutritionist, supplemental formulas to manage this problem. An Opthalmologist and your TB physician may discuss an adjustment in treatment medication or a different medication based on your culture and sensitivity profiles. Please follow up with an Ophthalmologist/Optometry. COVID 19 testing.
