First of all, it may be beneficial to confirm the diagnosis before embarking on further treatment. Allergic conjunctivitis manifests with itching & clear watery discharge. It can be treated with antihistamine drops found over the counter or prescribed by your pediatrician.

Zadator is an over the counter drop that may help true eye allergy, which your kids doc can confirm.

A topical ophthalmic allergy drop may be helpful. I agree that an infection and other cause should be considered. Watch for discharge, difficulty moving the eye and worsening swelling. If there is no improvement, please see a physician and a virtual consult with Healthtap is available. Monitor temperature, watch for respiratory difficulty and rash.
