If you washed your eyes and you can see without pain in the eyes, you should be okay. I have had that happen to me several times and I still see well.

Many times a liquid, sauce, soap or even if mace is sprayed into your eyes, you will feel partially blinded for a while. When you wash out your eyes with water you will be fine. If acid is splashed into your eyes you will most likely go blind.
