Claritin is an antihistamine and intended to treat allergic reactions. While the two medications are available , the reason for the use of these medications is not specified. Does your grandson have a fever,cough and/ or congestion? Nasal saline spray and humidified air is often as effective as over the counter treatments. The use of the Claritin is not recommended unless there is an allergy.
