Taking a nonsedating antihistamine medication that does not also contain a decongestant should be OK. The decongestant ( like sudafed) causes vasoconstriction and can worsen high blood pressure. Sedating antihistamines like benadryl can combine with paxil to increase drowsiness. Claritin is a nonsedating antihistamine
