Nasal saline: I would try some nasal saline - first. The important distinguishing word here is "chronically." if he has been blowing his nose for nasal drainage for more than 2 weeks... This may be 1) allergies 2) sinusitis (acute/chronic) 3) adenoiditis. Bottom line... If he has had this for more than two weeks.. It's time to think about something other than home remedies - see your pediatrician.

Nose Blowing: Nose blowing equals an inflammed, runny and swollen nose. Many irritants and allergens cause a chronically runny or stuffy nose. Antihistamine such a allegra, zyrtec, and Claritin may be helpful. Prescription nasal steroid sprays are generally most effective. Your son should see his primary healthcare provider, if these symptoms are not responding to over-the-counter medications.
