You probably have condition called neck shoulder syndrome due to cervical spine pathology. This condition is usually acute and limited but recurrence is often. In your case, you have had this syndrome for 6 months so it is a chronic condition. You should see either a spine orthopedist or a neurosurgeon for a thorough assessment.
