Is it ok to alternate between ibuprofen 400mg and hydrocod/acetam 5-325mg. if so how many hours apart. i had two wisdom teeth removed other day?

yes, Acetaminophen (tylenol) and Ibuprofen (motrin/advil) are different meds and can be used together or alternating times. Pain relievers for Wisdom tooth removal should only be used for 3-4 days after the extraction. Using hydrocodone for longer than this can result in dependance.

For optimum pain control, alternate between ibuprofen and the hydrocodone. Max dose for Ibuprofen is 3200 milligrams per day. 800 mg every 6 hours. You can take the hydrocodone in between doses of ibuprofen. Max hydrocodone dosage is typically 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours
