It is best to get treated to get rid of the symptoms. So if you have it the symptoms will be under control. It is not a stigma and with depression under control your work will be satisfactory, so no need to worry as no one will know. You can do it. Wishing you well.

As mentioned, if you can treat the depression, you will stabilize and function more effectively. Short-term antidepressant medication is likely of great value, and for longer lasting success, would engage in cognitive-behavioral therapy. Find a psychiatrist and/ or psychologist and get proactive.
